INTERNATIONAL VIDEO CONFERENCING FOR PROJECT POLAR BEAR CONTEST

Last Wednesday we joined the Virtual Award Ceremony by videoconference. We were able to connect with five other participating schools, and with Marissa Krouse and Alyssa McCall from Polar Bears International. Although there were some technical difficulties and interferences at the beginning it was amazing being connected with each other in one place while spanning 3 countries, and all to celebrate the passion and commitment to saving Arctic sea ice! Alyssa McCall, a biologist, answered our questions regarding Polar bears.
Have a look at the first picture we are in the second window on the right!
We finished the videoconference from the teacher’s room because it lasted until 5.18 pm!

POLAR BEAR HABITAT

In K3 Science, we are learning about the polar bear habitat. Polar bears spend much of their time on the annual arctic sea ice.

Making a cross over the animals that don’t live in the arctic with polar bears.

POLAR BEAR HANDPRINT ART

In K3 Science we have made cute polar bear handprints for our Polar Bear Project. Once the prints were dry, we added two dots for eyes and ears, little lines on the tips of what would be the feet and we drew a little mouth and a nose.
Have a look at the outcome.

LEARNING HOW TO SEPARATE TRASH

In K3 Science we are practising how to separate trash into organic and inorganic waste and how to recycle paper. This is part of our project for Polar Bears International. Have a look at the pictures. The kids are really doing a great job!
