Today we’ve been connected through Skype with the Zoo of Vienna, the TIERGARTEN SCHÖNBRUNN to watch live Ranzo and Lynn, two polar bears. They are both four years old.

The Vienna Zoo is the World’s oldest zoo. It opened in 1752.
Vienna’s Schönbrunn Zoo has been declared best zoo in Europe.
In our Science class we’ve started looking at three very different Australian animals: the galah, the wombat and the platypus.
Soon we’ll learn more!
We’ve visited the school kitchen today to get kitchen waste for our Californian red worms. Worms like tomatoes, carrots, lettuce, coconut fiber but do NOT like cabbage very much 🙂
In our Science class we are learning how to use a pipette! We are doing great. Have a look at the pictures.
In our Science class we’ve started to learn some new songs, here they are:

After one month placed in sea water some organisms can already be seen on the discs.

We’ve sent a short video of some of our team members asking five questions. These might be answered by an actual expert and are part of the mini-campaign#4 for the PBI contest!
In K4 and K5 Science we have been playing with flour really enjoying this experience!
In K5 Science we have learnt to mix paints to get other colours.
Blue and yellow make green, red and blue make purple and red and yellow-orange. How cool!
Today the teams Eco Scientists 1&2 have determined different characteristics of our vegetable gardens in K4 and Grade 4 such as temperature, soil moisture, acidity or pH –level.
Also, they have started to record the size of the plants and their leaves to determine the expected growth and they’ve had a look at our Californian worms and how the vermicomposting is going.
