IT’S STORYTIME: DIARY OF A WOMBAT

What exactly do wombats all day?
Wombats are cuddly-looking slow moving Australian animals. Their favourite activities are eating, sleeping and digging holes.
In our Science class we’ve been listening to the story: DIARY OF A WOMBAT
We’ve had so much fun!

SOIL ANALYSIS FOR PROJECT POLAR BEAR

Today the teams Eco Scientists 1&2 have determined different characteristics of our vegetable gardens in K4 and Grade 4 such as temperature, soil moisture, acidity or pH –level.

Also, they have started to record the size of the plants and their leaves to determine the expected growth and they’ve had a look at our Californian worms and how the vermicomposting is going.

TODAY IS MONDAY

Today we’ve listened to the song ‘Today is Monday’ and we’ve watched the cartoon, too. The catchy tune of this children song gets new life in the picture book and story by Eric Carle. We have had a lot of fun!

POLAR BEARS ARE COOL

Today in our Science class we have studied that Polar bears live in the Arctic, in the circumpolar north and in areas where they can hunt seals. Penguins live on the opposite pole. Penguins and polar bears are destined never to meet!

THE BAOBAB TREE 2

Today in K4 Science we have been listening to a second legend about the Baobab. We have learnt that you can find this tree in Africa and on the island of Madagascar. The story is based on a South African tale about the Baobab. As it looks like if its roots are in the air, people came up with many different stories to explain its strange shape. We also have been clay modelling and colouring Baobabs. Have a look at the pics!
