You might think that you can’t fit many drops of water on the surface of a penny. Pennies are just so small! In the Drops on a Penny experiment, though, we’ve investigated surface tension and cohesion at their finest. How many drops of water can fit? There’s only one way to find out… by adding one drop at a time and counting! – Have a look at the outcome!
Avui hem tingut una visita molt especial a l’escola, l’Anna Garcia.Ella és l’autora del conte de L’Ona , que juntament amb la seva germana Cristina ens han explicat el conte i la seva història de superació. Ens ha agradat molt escoltar aquesta història i estem molt agraïts de la seva visita. Esperem que tornin amb noves aventures!!!
We put a paper clip on the edge of another paper clip and lowered it gently into a bowl of water.
It didn’t sink because surface tension held it afloat. That’s why so many insects are able to walk on water.
Els nens i nenes d’EI 5 anys han creat un conte multimèdia pels Jocs Florals i la Festa de Sant Jordi 2015 de l’Escola.
Després
d’un treball previ a l’aula d’un conte popular els nens i nenes de les
Llunes vam anar a Olesa Ràdio a explicar i gravar aquest conte.
Un cop enregistrat el conte vam il·lustrar la història.
Posteriorment amb el programa Imovie de l‘ iPad vam fer la composició del conte amb veu i imatge i finalment el vam publicar.

Does an orange float or sink in water? We began by filling a large bowl of water and placing an orange in the water. The K5 kids discovered that the orange floats. Then we peeled the orange, removing the rind. Next we placed the unpeeled orange in the water and guess what? It started to sink!
The rind of an orange is full of tiny air pockets making it float on the surface!
Dijous 30 d’abril ens vindrà a visitar l’autora del conte L’Ona i el seu aniversari. Per tal de saber moltes coses sobre l’Ona , hem anat a la biblioteca de l’escola i la Camil.la ens ha explicat el conte i ens ho hem passat molt bé!!
Ara ja sabem moltes coses , amb l’espera que arribi el dijous la seva autora.
In Science K5 we have learnt that blue and yellow make green and red and yellow make orange. We have also seen what colours make purple! Today we have used coloured ice cubes to get the same results. Look at the outcome!
Després de pasqua, el 30 d’abril vindrà a visitar-nos l’Anna, ella és l’autora del conte l’Ona i el seu Aniversari, darrera d’aquest conte hi ha una història de superació que ella mateixa ens explicarà.
